FrostWire is an open source P2P file sharing client built from the famous LimeWire client that handles Gnutella protocol and BitTorrent protocol. The FrostWired is written by a community of developers.

Uses of FrostWires

FrostWire contains different functionality of free and pro version of LimeWire. On top of that, It contains no pop-ups, no nag screens, no inhibiting features. User would not get bombarded by ads. In addition, FrostWire users do not have to worry about simultaneous download restrictions.

FrostWire has some new features. It has an online chatroom which you would not be able to find in LimeWire. However, certain LimeWire features such as the instant messenger are not available in FrostWire.

FrostWire has enabled TLS encryption for its connection by default. This can be disabled in the preference. You can make more connections using FrostWire now.

FrostWire uses BitTorrent engine developed by Azureus technology. Before this, a simplified version of LimeWire’s BitTorrent engine was used.

You can now share file between your Adroid FrostWire client and deskstop client through wireless connection. You do not have to preconfigure either device. The connection is established automatically if these devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

FrostWire is now compatible with iTune.
